The Dermatech Pen is based on the skin’s capacity to self-regenerate when it has been harmed. The device produces a controlled aggression on the skin, which sets of an innate response of the body to repair this injury increasing the amount of growth factors that will go on to produce new collagen and elastin.

The micro-punctures produce an inflammatory reaction that activates the liberation of epidermal growth factors and stimulates the multiplication of the fibroblasts in the dermis. Consequently, an increase is produced in the production of elastin, collagen I, III and IV and glucosaminoglicans that generates an improvement in the quality and texture of the skin, appearing more supple, thicker, and hydrated.
